Johnson writes with a finesse that has you plummeting down plots and pathways that you had no idea was coming, but with a familiarity well known to readers of the fantasy genre. Her world of Loraillvon is a land I would want to visit as much as Narnia or Alagaesia, with delightful trips to the forests, oceans, and mountains. Her characters are lovable, relatable, inspiring, realistic, and develop well throughout the timeline of the story. I would 100% recommend this book to a friend.

Couldn't put it down! If you haven't read this book or series - you should! The story kept me engaged; I had to make myself put it down. I didn't know where it was going until the last couple of chapters (just like the other books in this series). I can't wait to read her future books.

For anyone looking for an amazing summer read look no further!! On par with A Court of Thorns and Roses or the Caraval series, this book literally has it all! Action, romance, intrigue and quite a few twists and turns along the way. This is definitely a summer must read it!

T.K. Johnson does it again. Her feel good page turner offers everything you could want from a classic princess tale. As Belle herself would describe it, “Far off places, daring sword fights, a Prince in disguise!” It’s worth checking out over and over again. This reader gives it five stars.

TK Johnson delivers an amazing escape (again if like me you started with These Favored Shadows. AMAZING book). If you haven't visited the exciting and magical world of Loraillvon you are truly missing out. Her story telling makes me reminiscent of a time before the digital world, and of all the things i truly love about a good book. Absolutely magical.

If you loved the first three, you will love book four!. These Favored Shadows is a great adventure for fans of the original trilogy. It has a darker edge to its story, with deeper relational character struggles than we’ve ever seen. With great connections to the original story this prequel laces together new content with just enough reference to nod to the fans of books 1-3. It certainly leaves the reader wanting more in the world of Loraillvon.

Firstly I want to preface my review with the fact that I actually won a copy of this book from the author in a social media giveaway. If you do not follow her on social media, you need to. Not only is she amazingly engaging with her followers but she is genuinely interested in what they have to say. From the first chapter These Favored Shadows draws you into the amazing world of Loraillvon. I could not put it down. The character development was great and there were a lot of surprises I didn't foresee. It reminded me of why I love the fantasy genre. These favored Shadows has a perfect balance of rich details without becoming overwhelming like some of the greatest series. *cough* wheel of time *cough* I am excited to continue my visit in Loraillvon and read the rest of the books in the series. I can say without a doubt I am a fan of T.K. Johnson and the brilliant world she has created.
