A Journey of Inspiration

“Forget them, Wendy. Forget them all. Come with me where you’ll never, never have to worry about grown-up things again.” - Peter Pan

What is it like to approach a castle? To walk over a moat and cross under its trusses? To imagine passing by a crashed pirate ship and into the halls of an ocean palace? To navigate through deep space and walk the streets of an alien desert planet?

My husband and I recently took a trip to a few of the Disney parks and Universal Studios. If one can look past the crowds, lines, and souvenirs shops, they can dive back into the childish imagination they may have left behind so long ago. Be the prince or princess again. Fly the Millennium Falcon. Meet a fairy godmother. Make a wish in the wishing well. See childhood toys come to life.

When writing, I can attempt to imagine those things. But what’s magical about these parks is that one’s imagination can soar further and faster as they interact with and realistically see these worlds come to life before them.
