Book Review

A story about an incredible curse, gift, friendship and opportunity, all misused by a boy struggling to understand what's happened to him and win favor. Though set in another world and time, the characters are all relatable with emotions, struggles and trials we all face: worthiness, acceptance, peer pressure, physical attraction, family relations, good vs. evil. There are beautiful highs with magic, strength and love, and lows with injury, death and broken bonds. It made me cheer them on and then hang my head. It showed a side of a boy that longed for love, acceptance and friendship that he didn't even realize existed.
